Paul Sughrue is a gifted musician, adventure seeker, and family man— among many other things. Here at ThunderCloud, we’re lucky enough to have him as our stellar operations manager.
Growing up as a part of our ThunderFamily, Paul has worked for ThunderCloud Subs in almost every capacity. In his early teens he painted and helped remodel and started working in the stores at 16. Paul has opened several stores for ThunderCloud and managed some of the highest volume locations including our Guadalupe and South Lamar stores. He has also volunteered at every ThunderCloud Subs Turkey Trot since the very first one and has been going to our company picnics since he was a toddler.
Paul grew up in a house of music. He is the co-owner of Little Honey Records and 3 PM Music Publishing. He plays a mean acoustic and electric guitar, bass, mandolin, and drums. Paul sings and writes his own songs, and can be heard singing and playing on the Sughrue’s recent family album: Patty Gayle’s “She Ain’t Broken.”
He graduated with a business degree from Texas State University- San Marcos, placing in an international business competition his senior year that culminated in a limo drive around the Indianapolis Speedway. How cool is that?!
An avid adventurer, Paul was scuba certified at age 12 and loves riding Harleys, golfing, traveling, and experiencing new things. He has been to the famed Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota, spent time with a Mayan family and rappelled down cenote holes in the Yucatan jungle, stayed in castles in Spain, pub crawled through Ireland and England, and hiked the natural countryside of too many different European countries to list here.
Paul is always happy to see a smiling face and has never met a stranger, so be sure to say “hello” if you see him out around the town or at your neighborhood ThunderCloud Subs.
