Living in Central Texas is the perfect combination of inner-city life and outdoor activity, and with the 85-degree temperatures we’ve been having lately, what better way to enjoy the day than sitting on a lovely patio with a ThunderCloud sub in hand?
We highlighted several ThunderCloud stores with lovely outdoor seating areas in a previous blog post, and now we’re giving you the bonus edition: five more ThunderCloud locations with open-air dining spaces where you can bask in the gorgeous weather while you enjoy your fresh, fast, healthy meal.
1. Riverside and Congress
While this ThunderCloud Subs store is hard to miss from the street, the outdoor patio in the back is a quaint, almost-hidden gem tucked away from the hustle and bustle of street traffic. Shaded with an awning and complete with some “thunderful” yet simple wood art wall hangings, make this patio your new go-to spot for a peaceful meal, perhaps with a good book!
2. Georgetown
Located right on Georgetown’s historic town square, this ThunderCloud location features several quaint yet colorful outdoor tables underneath an awning that’s adorned with year-round icicle lights in front of the store. This outdoor seating area is perfect for a romantic dinner with your significant other underneath the scenic twinkling lights, or a daytime meal you can enjoy alone or with a friend while people-watching visitors to the town square. 3. Lavaca Street
Our Lavaca Street store is located in the heart of downtown, and it just so happens to be the first-ever ThunderCloud Subs location we opened back in 1975. Most customers who visit the Lavaca store during the work week order their food to go on their lunch breaks; however, there’s a small outdoor seating area that’s enclosed and cozy in the back of the store for those who are fortunate to be able to dine al fresco with us. With a shaded awning, wind chimes, and ceiling fans… this patio is like a mini urban outdoor oasis in the middle of a busy traffic-filled day downtown.
4. Lake Austin Blvd.
Tucked away on the corner of the Lake Austin Blvd. shop, there is a lovely outdoor dining area complete next to the walk-up window with wooden picnic benches and a delightful array of landscaped plants. Surrounded by the beauty and distinction of Westlake Hills, the outdoor patio seating area at our Lake Austin Blvd. store is a favorite among the summer lake crowd and hungry locals who walk over from Deep Eddy Pool across the street. 
5. South Congress
Conveniently located at 3801 S. Congress Avenue, this ThunderCloud store’s outdoor patio boasts some excellent people watching and also doubles as a convenient place to fuel up with a fresh, fasty, healthy meal in between errands and shopping sprees at the Shops at SOCO. The outdoor area in front of the store is lined with several tables that are well spaced out, so customers can stretch out and soak up the sun while they grub down on their subs.
