Six more fun facts you probably didn’t know about ThunderCloud

May 15th, 2017

Our last blog post revealing fun facts about ThunderCloud Subs that many of our fans probably didn’t know about us was such a huge hit that we’ve decided to round up six more for your reading enjoyment!

    1. Local artist Dale Whistler is the creator of the giant ThunderCloud subs outside the stores, and of other popular local displays like the giant fork outside Hyde Park Grill.
    2. Several of our Austin stores have book exchanges: South Lamar, 12th Street, South Congress, Mopac and Parmer, and Riverside and Burton. Next time you stop by one of those locations, bring an old book to put on the shelf and grab a new one for your reading enjoyment.
    3. In lieu of one annual company party, we have several parties and activities for our employees and their families throughout year including our Halloween pumpkin carving party, the Weed Whacker golf tournament, and the Spring Fling disc golf tournament, among other events for special occasions such as our 40th anniversary party.
    4. Our delicious and popular carrot cake is made from scratch by local bakery owner Kimberley Joosten, and we sell 600-900 slices a week!
    5. A handful of our Austin-area stores have solar power arrays installed to help save energy and eliminate pollution. Solar-powered subs, anyone?
    6. The California Club is our most popular menu item.
