First Texas Honda donates 2016 Accord for ThunderCloud Subs Turkey Trot Raffle grand prize

First Texas Honda is donating a new 2016 Honda Accord EX-L Sedan with navigation and assistive technologies, valued at $31,505, as the grand prize for the ThunderCloud Subs Turkey Trot Raffle, with 100 percent of ticket sales going to Caritas of Austin.

Trot Raffle participants will also have the chance to win two gift packages from Mellow Johnny’s Bike Shop valued at $1,250 each, which will be given to the second and third place winners.

Anyone can buy raffle tickets; buyers do not have to register for the Trot or be present to win. Raffle tickets are $25 each or $100 for five. Winners will be announced on event day at 10:45 a.m.

Tickets can be purchased online or at Caritas of Austin headquarters, 611 Neches Street. Tickets will also be sold during onsite registration and packet pick-up for the ThunderCloud Subs Turkey Trot.

All proceeds go to Caritas of Austin, a local charity that supports Austin’s working poor and homeless people. ThunderCloud has raised nearly $3 million for Caritas since the event began in 1991.

“The raffle is a win-win for all who enter because even if they don’t end up winning the car or gift packages, they can still be happy knowing they’ve donated their money to a great cause,” says Mike Haggerty, ThunderCloud Subs co-owner. “First Texas Honda is doing a truly amazing thing by donating this car for the raffle, and we hope this impressive grand prize will help us raise even more money for Caritas of Austin.”

The official drawing for the prizes will be held on Thursday, November 24, at the Long Center for the Performing Arts after the Trot takes place. Online ticket sales will be available until November 23 at 7 p.m.
