Congratulations to our 2017 ThunderCloud Subs Turkey Trot Raffle winners!

January 3rd, 2018

We’re thrilled to announce David and Laura Cox as the grand prize winners of the 2017 ThunderCloud Subs Turkey Trot Raffle! The couple bought one raffle ticket during packet pickup and couldn’t believe they won the new car from First Texas Honda until the moment they picked up the keys to their beautiful new 2018 Accord at the dealership!

David and Laura have lived in Austin for seven years and participated in the Trot’s one-mile walk several times over the years. Prior to moving to Austin, the couple lived in Chicago for 30 years where they raised two children who both now reside in the Austin area as well. Laura will be the lucky family member who gets to drive the new 2018 Honda Accord. She said she’s most excited about all of its amazing safety features including the multi-view backup camera.

One hundred percent of raffle ticket proceeds goes directly to Caritas of Austin, a local nonprofit that works to prevent and end homelessness in Austin. A big thank you to First Texas Honda for being a major sponsor of the Trot and donating a new car as the raffle grand prize for the fourth consecutive year!

The first runner up is Zeeshan Malik who won the YETI package worth $900. Our hearts were warmed when we heard that Zeeshan elected to gift his prize to Caritas of Austin’s employees. Caritas distributed the assorted YETI items at their holiday party and was immensely grateful for Zeeshan’s generosity. It was a well-deserved treat for the hard-working employees of Caritas who help to build wellbeing for thousands of families and make Austin stronger for all who call it home.

Last but not least, the second runner up is Luke Gerber who won the Mellow Johnny‘s gift certificate for $500!

We want to not only thank the Trot sponsors and volunteers, but also the participants, who continue to make this event a success. It’s because of YOU that this event is able to give back in such a big way year after year!
